I’m thrilled you landed here and want to help you get what you need – whether that be personal connection, healing, pursuing your creative desires, gaining a deeper understanding of women’s health and sexuality – or any of the myriad of topics we discuss on the show.
Telling women’s stories is at the heart of everything I do. The rich, complex and sometimes messy lives we lead as women allow us to birth remarkable experiences and stories, and these stories are what heal and connect us to one another.
I have never felt more alone then when I was first home from the hospital by myself with my newborn, certain that I was already failing. No one was telling me that, but no one was there to tell me that I wasn’t. I needed support. I didn’t have it. I didn’t know how to ask for it. This is ultimately why I created MILF Podcast. It’s why I’m a novelist and writing coach, and it’s why I’m driven to bring women together to create powerful connection and community. Providing listeners with intimate, moving and relatable dialogue is one way for me to help mitigate the isolation moms can feel in all stages of motherhood. At least for one hour.
Everything I know about motherhood I have learned by following other moms who have paved the way before me or alongside me. I love pushing the boundaries of societal norms and what is “appropriate” for women’s roles, which is why I chose the acronym MILF as the name of the show. Not only did I want to turn MILF and its original definition on its head, reclaiming and redefining our sexuality as women with children, but I also had a deep desire to embolden femininity in its most powerful, creative form.
There is no “village” to raise our kids. We create the village; on the internet; at schools; in our communities. This podcast holds the powerful stories of women who are figuring out how to balance motherhood and their creative lives as entrepreneurs, artists and badass women.
